"LUST, MONEY AND MURDER" de Mike Wells

LUST, MONEY AND MURDER. (LUJURIA, DINERO Y ASESINATO.)

"No consentiras pensamientos ni deseos impuros. No codiciarás los bienes ajenos. No robarás. No matarás."
"Not suffer impure thoughts or desires. Shall not covet your neighbor's goods. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not kill."

All we ever heard those words in different ways and from different fields, whether believers as people who have no religious belief, whether Christian or not. The truth is that both human laws as Divine Laws in those words appear to remind us what we should do, we should not think that we should not make. So the first thing that draws on the work of Mike Wells is precisely the title.

At first I read the book as I have the habit of reading many other works of mystery, thrillers, horror or just with some touches that intrigue the reader. The play at first I did not see anything that I had not read before in other.

Lo curioso vino después.
The funny thing came later.

Like other day I saw the news while dining. The news spoke of death, murder of various kinds, for domestic violence, for money, for the desire to have more power than others ... then I looked at the programs that are on the grid in the early hours of the morning until late night. In 85% of them attracts us to have impure thoughts and desires, to covet the property of others, to steal, and to kill if necessary. Of course, they do not directly. No, they do so subliminal, so hidden from the viewer.

The next day I realized that the behavior of people in a small place, say in 6000, may suffice, that message was taking its toll, I could see that these approaches that are offered on television acting in people. Leaving their mark in each.

Then I went back to read the work of Mike Wells, and found in it something different. I pointed out that we can all be dark, we all have that dark side that makes lust, money and murder if necessary can be so attractive. We can all wish the man or woman in front of us in the cafeteria, or library work. We can all be tempted to steal, whether the portfolio of our parents or the company box. We can all be tempted to kill others or ourselves if we believe that is the only way out to get something.

In the works are a series of characters. Characters seeking delight in the pleasures, gambling, lust ... Characters who seek to have more money at any price ... Characters who for various reasons could kill ...

Clearly, the author makes a clear presentation of the play, so from the front lines. There is an extensive work. Arguably the size of a TV series screenplay, and I have a few at my disposal to even compare. In fact, even the rhythm and cadence reminds these breaks with their image and location, at least I thought so. That makes a text, a work, very dynamic, even close to the reader, but leaves the feeling of "when will the film", or at times a sense of "déjà vu" about some scenes that are familiar to lovers of books, movies and intrigue, mystery or spy.

Personally I liked. It was a warning to what happens around us. I thought it may be interesting reading to compare with what we do every one of us in our lives, as we build our little personal castles, and to what extent we are able to give in to our desires ...
